Plane to India II

I had a great time in India.. the only regret is that the holiday was too short.. which I guess it always is..! I was there for almost a month and half and still didn’t have enough time to meet all of my friends. On top of that, I was sick for three days. Here in Australia I boast of my remarkable metabolism and I’ve put my digestive system through some weird extremes.. I’ve tried all sorts of spicy and junk food and have never had any problem whatsoever..! I’ve never had any problems in India either.. but this time around, I guess my stomach finally gave in and made me realize that it’s still a human digestive system. I still don’t know what caused it, but I was bed ridden for three days due to what the doctor called a stomach infection. I virtually spent a whole day in the toilet. I won’t tell you how many times did I have to go to the toilet otherwise you’ll probably spend the next one days on the floor laughing at me..! ;)

Ammm.. I attended a cousin’s wedding which was great. Other than all that, there was nothing extraordinary in my visit. It was nice to be with the family and around friends.

Well, that’s it for now.. I’ll try to be a bit more regular again. Don’t forget to post your comments. Bye now..!

Plane to India..!

It’s been so long since I’ve ever posted on here. I almost forgot about this blog, but someone posted a comment on my post about arranged vs love marriage and that brought me back on here. Well hopefully people still read this once in a while..!

Now where should I start.. so many things have happened since I last posted on here..! well, I guess I can talk about my recent visit to India. Yes.. I was in Punjab this February and the first two weeks of March.

Let’s talk about the Plane to India first.. shall we..? It was a funny flight home. Before I left, a close friend decided to give me a huge/heavy gold ‘kara’ to take with me and give to his family. I had to wear it just so that it was secure. Sitting in the flight with me was this old Punjabi couple. Amongst other things.. the old lady also asked me if I was married yet. I answered the question reluctantly coz I was worried that she might start suggesting ‘rishtas’ for me or something. Luckily she didn’t. Then the old gentleman started his investigation. He couldn’t believe that I wasn’t married. I asked why he was so sure that I WAS married.. to which he answered that looking at the gold ‘kara’ I was wearing.. it looked like I was married. I don’t know how I held my laugh..! I know people use the rings as an indication of a person’s being married or not, but never heard of this ‘kara’ business before.

Well, that’s it for today. If I can manage to write more anytime soon, you might get to hear more stories like that..! till then.. take care. Bye
